Why theSauerReport?

Why do so many people read theSauerReport and as far back as 1985?

It gives a neutral and independent impression and analysis of the situation in the world of raw material and leather on a daily basis. It helps readers in making up their mind and supplies them with a broader base to take commercial decisions. The more you know, the better your decisions will be.

Most people are operating in a limited sector of leather world (products, markets, origins) and have a limited scope of what is happening in the world. My report tells them in short (and for just over 50 Euro a month) what is going on beyond their own horizon. Things happening elsewhere may very well influence their trade. Thus it is good to know and to be aware, without having to ask often unreliable sources as customers or suppliers. My report is neutral and independent. I am not trading, not buying and not selling anything. Thus there is no need for me to change the news to suit my own interests!

The 2nd argument to subscribe is to be able to compare. To know whether your own offers/sales/purchases are in line with the rest of the world. Whether you are not selling too cheap or buying too expensive. The report may give you the answers. You can check it out yourself.

The 3rd reason are the general price indexes and the specific price graphs which assist people in making prognoses and comparisons (read the explanations under the item 'What You Get').

The 4th reason is the personal assistance readers can get from me for specific questions they may have. Like helping them in finding a supplier, buyer, agent, product information, etc. If I can help, I will.

Many hundreds of companies in the world have been reading my reports since the set up back in 1985. They include the very biggest names in all sectors (abattoirs, traders, tanners, footwear/furniture/leather goods/garment/car manufacturers). Readers are also among associations, arbitrators, universities, consultants and even governments (to fix min. export prices for instance).

When news comes in, it is put in the on line report that same day. Thus there are updates practically daily.

There is no other report in the world which offers the same. Its value of course is different to the different players in the industry.

The report also supplies direct links (free) to the detailed weekly USA export sales and slaughter figures; the UK slaughter details and to commercial company news from the world's leading footwear manufacturers & brands. (Just-Style.com)

Its continuous successful publication since 1985 is thanks to its global coverage, its neutrality and the confidence it has acquired. Please note I do not pretend my prices are the only correct ones or my stories the only true ones on the market. I do not believe there is such thing as one price for a hide or a skin or one truth to a trade story. Too many factors justify numerous differences. I collect, analyze and report what circulates on the market without changing it. Therefore it does not always look logic. The market is not always logic. Readers use the information to form their own opinion and draw their own conclusions. Finally the report is nothing more than a well equipped toolbox. And like a carpenter, you use from the toolbox what you need but you still have to do the hammering yourself!
